Obesity. It's something we as a nation face everyday. We see it every time we leave the house and every few months on the news. This is also the time of year that every new year diet imaginable is displayed on newsstands everywhere. The four leading causes of death are the same risks associated with obesity: Heart Disease, Cancer, Stroke, Diabetes. Being overweight has become epidemic in this country with 7 of 10 adults and 1 of 4 children are overweight.
And in the African American community, we are no better. Our women are more overweight than our men. Black women are 79% overweight and Black men are 67% overweight. That means that in the black population women tend to be more overweight than men by at least 12%. It's true that women naturally have harder times losing weight than males, but our diets do not help either. Only 30% of how we age is determined by our genes. We have control of 70% of how we age! That's a big percentage that we can choose to make better.
We have to take advantage of our health and not let it weaken with processed foods, fast foods, liquor, salt and so on. We need proper nutrition. Our bodies crave it! We cannot survive on junk food alone. It's not healthy if you think you are living just fine with fast food every day. It might be good but that food is pretty much eating to live food. Food you eat because you're hungry and it's quick is bad in excess and there are excesses of fast food, processed processed foods, and liquor in our neighborhoods. No one is invisible to heart disease, stroke or even the other health problems caused by blood pressure and diabetes. Invest in your health! Herbalife might not be cheap but it's worth it's cost. And everything you buy lasts at least a month! The skin and body care products may last even longer than that. And the ones I've tried are amazing! I love how the skincare line makes my skin feel.
Herbalife gives us the chance to give our bodies the best nutrition available. The products are delicious and they're wonderful to use. I've been using these products since August 2011 and when I checked my weight a couple of weeks ago I've found that I've lost nearly 16 lbs. That means I've been losing about 1 lb a week. My BMI was 25 (overweight, I'm only 5'3") now it's 22 (normal, for my height). I have better energy and I'm starting to be way more conscious about what I put in my body as well.
