I went to Farmers Market yesterday. This trip brought some new purchases since it's still early. There will be more different fruits and vegetables as the summer goes on. And I will integrate more healthier options into my household.
I might sound like a health nut, but the truth of the matter is, I suffer from acid reflux. I want to try to rid myself of the use of medicine for this issue. The medicine I once took and still need to keep it at bay can actually do more harm than good in the long run. I read that, and thought to myself that there has to be a better way to end it without taking medicine.
The other reason is to stop buying food that has been grown to do more harm than good as well. I know there are few people in the world who realize that we need better nutrition from our food would agree that I'm on the right boat. I also realize that I cannot totally give up going to the store all at once.
Getting back to the trip though, I bought some honey! I know I can buy it from any store but I'd like buying it straight from the people who are doing the work to make it. You can ask questions, get to know the farmers, and find out how to get these things when you cannot get to a farmers market. Lettuce was present at the market as well, I bought three different heads of lettuce and some one has already made a salad already. I also picked up green onions and tomatoes. Tomatoes are not anything new, they're there almost all summer. Green onions are something I usually only buy when I need them but since I bought so much lettuce, there had to be a vegetable specific to making salads unless I find a recipe to try.
